A Winery with a Long History and a Bright Future

The Rizman Winery, based in the Southern Dalmatia region, is owned by the Stimac family and was founded in the early 1900’s. The winery dates back to 1918 and over the years, the Stimac family has added acreage so that today’s total cultivation is more than 80 hectares (about 200 acres). Most of the land is adjacent to the Adriatic Sea and increases to about 800 feet above sea level. The vineyards face south and southeast, and benefit from the gentle winds rolling off the Adriatic Sea.
The Stimac family continues to improve its infrastructure, which includes a private well spring for irrigation and the modernization of equipment. The Stimac family is committed to the principles of ecological winegrowing to increase the natural fertility of the soil, thus avoiding excessive soil cultivation, and the use of herbicides and fertilizers.
The Rizman Winery has been producing Posip, Plavac Mali, Tribidrag and other varietals unique to the region. They introduced a new label, BRIME, for their organic production of Posip and Plavac Mali. BRIME Posip and BRIME Plavac Mali are imported exclusively by Blue Ice, Inc.
